Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Bennington County Democrats tent at Mayfest on Saturday. It was a great opportunity to meet lots of new people and talk about issues and interests. We were also visited by several local elected official and candidates for Lt. Governor. The rain held off and the weather could not have been much better.

Speaking of Lt. Governor, all three Democratic candidates (Molly Gray, Esther Charlestin, and Ryan McLaren) participated in a candidate forum later that evening at the Second Congregational church. Each of them answered a series of questions from the moderator, Democratic County Committee Chair Jonathan West, then took questions from the audience. Each had the opportunity to descibe how they would approach the numerous issues confronting Vermont in the coming years. High on the list was addressing the high -- and increasing -- cost of living in Vermont. With three strong candidates, the primary election in August will be one to watch.
