On August 4th and 5th, I attended the Public Banking Congress at Vermont Law and Graduate School in South Royalton. The event included a Farm Resiliency Bus Tour and a Farm Dinner. I learned a lot about the issues affecting Vermonts farmers and farm communities and how a public bank in Vermont could help.
The Public Banking Congress had presentations, panel discussions, and collaborative working sessions exploring Vermont's history with public banking, practical examples from around the country, and how public finance could help address farm viability, housing, disaster resilience, student debt, municipal infrastructure, and community investment.
